How much does it cost to study CPA in Uganda?The cost to study CPA in Uganda ranges between UGX 2,500,000 to UGX 5,000,000 for the entire course. However, one should take note that the cost of studying CPA in Uganda varies depending on the institution offering the course. The figures provided here are taken on an average basis. It's important to note that this cost may not include additional expenses such as textbooks, examination fees, and living expenses. What is CPA Uganda?The Certified Public Accountants of Uganda, CPA(U) is a professional qualification for all individuals that want to practice accounting in Uganda. To become a Certified Public Accountant, one must pass all the eighteen (18) courses (papers) that make up this 4-level qualification. ​ The graduates of this programme (CPAs) act as Financial Advisors, Tax Consultants, Auditors, Business Consultants, Public Accountants and can take-up any position related to Finance at a company. Who qualifies for CPA?A holder of a degree from a recognised University qualifies for CPA. If you intend to enroll for CPA(U), the minimum entry requirements are; Degree from a recognized University, or Advanced Level Certificate with at least two principle passes in addition to 5 credits at O’ Level including English Language and Mathematics. How long is a CPA Course in Uganda?On average, the CPA Course in Uganda takes 2 years and 6 months to complete. However, you should take note that the duration and completion of a CPA Course in Uganda depends on a number of factors including, availability of exemptions when you enrolled and how many papers you intend to sit per examination diet. From experience, most of the students that have enrolled for a CPA Course in Uganda at Harvest Training and Consultancy (U) Ltd have finished and graduated within a period of two and a half years (2 years and 6 months). The rules set by ICPAU on the other hand require a student to complete a CPA Course in Uganda within a period of 10 years (as a maximum) from the date of registration.
