The Mountains of the Moon University, is a public university in Uganda. Founded as a private, non-profit institution, the university became a public institution following an executive directive in January 2018. It is named after the Rwenzori Mountains, also known as the Mountains of the Moon.
Job Description
To teach, supervise, promote research studies, disseminate research findings and participate in Community Service.
Duties and Responsibilities
Academic Leadership:
Leadership Roles: Take on leadership roles within the department or faculty, such as heading a research group, leading a program, or coordinating specific academic initiatives.
Curriculum Innovation: Lead efforts to innovate and enhance the curriculum in educational psychology, integrating new research findings, pedagogical strategies, and technological advancements.
Professional Development:
Continual Learning: Stay current with developments in the field of educational psychology through ongoing professional development, attending conferences, workshops, and engaging in scholarly discourse.
Networking: Build and maintain a network of professional contacts within the field, collaborating on research projects, publications, and academic initiatives.
Qualification, Experiences and Competencies
Should have a PhD in Education (Psychology) and Masters in Education (Psychology) and Bachelor's (Hons) Degree in Education.
Should have:
At least seven (7) years of good track record of relevant teaching, research and publication experience at the level of a Higher Education Institution.
At least five (5) internationally recognized peer reviewed publications in the field of specialization within the last five (5) years of which three (3) as first author
Supervised five (5) graduate students to completion, one of which at the PhD level.
Being a registered professional is an added advantage.
Demonstrated computer literacy and adequate communication skills, as a MUST.
Demonstrated evidence of academic leadership in an institution of higher learning
Written and won at least 1 competitive fundable research grants with a minimum of USD 50,000 is an added advantage.
