Job Description
Light for the world in partnership with Mastercard Foundation associate program and Uganda Breweries Limited are offering a 12 months paid work placement to graduates with disabilities in Uganda.
Duties and Responsibilities
Compliance Monitoring:
Policy Adherence: Ensuring that employees and departments comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Regular Audits: Assisting in conducting regular audits and reviews to identify potential compliance issues.
Reporting and Documentation:
Incident Reporting: Documenting and reporting any breaches of compliance or ethical standards.
Record Keeping: Maintaining records of compliance activities, incidents, and resolutions.
Training and Education:
Training Programs: Assisting in the development and delivery of training programs related to business integrity and compliance.
Educational Materials: Preparing and distributing educational materials on ethical standards and company policies.
Risk Assessment:
Risk Identification: Helping identify potential risks related to compliance and ethics.
Mitigation Strategies: Assisting in developing strategies to mitigate identified risks.
Policy Development and Implementation:
Policy Updates: Supporting the creation and updating of policies and procedures related to business integrity.
Implementation Support: Assisting in implementing new policies and ensuring they are communicated effectively to employees.
Investigations:
Supporting Investigations: Assisting in the investigation of reported violations of compliance and ethical standards.
Data Collection: Gathering and analyzing data relevant to investigations.
Communication:
Liaison Role: Acting as a liaison between the compliance department and other departments to ensure a clear understanding of compliance requirements.
Information Dissemination: Distributing information regarding updates in laws, regulations, and company policies.
Continuous Improvement:
Feedback Collection: Collecting feedback from employees about compliance programs and suggesting improvements.
Best Practices: Staying updated on best practices in business integrity and compliance
Qualification, Experiences and Competencies
Bachelor’s Degree: A bachelor’s degree in business administration, law, ethics, compliance, or a related field is typically required.
Skills:
Analytical Skills: Strong analytical skills to assess compliance data and identify trends or issues.
Attention to Detail: High attention to detail to ensure accurate reporting and documentation.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for training, reporting, and liaising with various departments.
Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities to manage records, reports, and multiple tasks efficiently.
Technical Skills: Proficiency in using compliance software, data management tools, and office applications like Microsoft Office.
Experience:
Entry-Level: Entry-level positions may require 1-2 years of experience in compliance, ethics, or a related field.
Mid-Level and Senior Positions: More advanced positions typically require 3-5 years of relevant experience.
Certification (Optional but Beneficial):
Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP): Offered by the Compliance Certification Board (CCB).
Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE): Offered by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE).
Other Relevant Certifications: Certifications related to business integrity, risk management, or internal auditing.
Knowledge:
Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of relevant laws, regulations, and standards affecting the industry.
Ethical Standards: Familiarity with ethical standards and practices in business operations.
Risk Management: Basic knowledge of risk management principles and practices.
