About the Organization

Job Description

Rushere Cooperative Savings and Credit Society Limited, a registered SACCO in Rushere Town Council, operates in the districts of Kiruhura, Kazo, Kamwenge, Ibanda, Mbarara, Sembabule, Kyegegwa, and Lyantonde. We are expanding and looking to hire qualified personnel for the following positions:

Duties and Responsibilities

Transaction Handling:

  • Processing Payments: Handling cash, credit, debit, and other forms of payments.

  • Scanning Items: Scanning goods or services and ensuring accurate pricing.

  • Issuing Receipts: Providing customers with receipts for their transactions.


Customer Service:

  • Assisting Customers: Answering customer inquiries and providing information about products, services, and promotions.

  • Problem Resolution: Addressing and resolving customer complaints or concerns promptly and professionally.

  • Bagging Items: Assisting customers with packing and bagging their purchases.


Cash Management:

  • Balancing Registers: Counting the cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift to ensure the amounts are correct and there is adequate change.

  • Cash Handling: Handling large sums of money and ensuring security procedures are followed.

  • Deposit Preparation: Preparing cash deposits and securing them according to company policies.


Record Keeping:

  • Maintaining Records: Keeping accurate records of transactions, voids, refunds, and cash drops.

  • End-of-Day Reports: Preparing daily summaries and reports for management review.


Sales Support:

  • Promoting Products: Informing customers about special offers, discounts, and promotions.

  • Suggestive Selling: Recommending additional products or services to customers to enhance their shopping experience.


Inventory Management:

  • Stock Monitoring: Alerting management to low stock levels or inventory discrepancies.

  • Merchandising: Assisting in the arrangement and display of products to enhance sales.


Compliance and Security:

  • Adhering to Policies: Following company policies and procedures, including those related to cash handling, customer service, and loss prevention.

  • Preventing Theft: Being vigilant to prevent theft and fraudulent activities.

  • Security Awareness: Ensuring personal and customer safety by following security protocols.


Technology and Equipment Use:

  • Operating Systems: Using point-of-sale (POS) systems and other relevant technology efficiently.

  • Maintenance: Reporting any issues with cash registers or equipment to the appropriate personnel.

Qualification, Experiences and Competencies

  • Diploma/Bachelor's degree in a business-related course

  • One year of experience working in a financial institution
