Job Description
VisionFund International (VFI) is the world’s largest Christian microfinance network. For more than a decade we have been improving the lives of children across the developing world, as we provide small loans and other financial services to families struggling in poverty. As the microfinance subsidiary of World Vision, the world’s largest Christian relief, development and advocacy organisation, we work in 28 countries through our network of affiliated microfinance institutions (MFIs) located across the globe in Africa, Asia, Latin America and Eastern Europe. We have an outstanding loan portfolio of nearly US$429 million, serve over 1million active borrowers and impact the lives of over 3.4 million children each year. Sharing the same vision as World Vision, VFI aims to provide ‘life in all its fullness’ to children as their parents receive small loans, improve their businesses and increase in ability to care for their children as family incomes multiply.
Duties and Responsibilities
Assist in conducting market research and survey activities;
Solicits new loan accounts in accordance with specific periodic performance targets prescribed in the branch business plan;
Conducts active marketing campaign to attract new clients;
Orients prospective clients about VFU’s loan products;
Receives loan applications and perform credit appraisal on loan applicants and his/her surety/ guarantor, if any;
Conducts inspection and/or appraisal of any property being offered as collateral
Prepares and presents credit applications to the branch credit committee for approval;
Member of loan committee
Conduct regular visits to clients and build strong relations with them before, during and after the disbursement
Closely monitors loan payments and ensures zero tolerance against past due;
Effectively negotiates
Acts to support other loan officers in delinquency crisis.
And any other duties that may be assigned by the Branch manager from time to time
Qualification, Experiences and Competencies
Minimum of a Diploma in Microfinance, Business Administration or related field
Minimum of a Credit in Math and English at UCE (O' level)
Ability to ride with a riding permit is an added advantage.
