Job Description
As a Health Sector Officer, your responsibilities will involve a range of tasks related to KOICA Uganda's health sector program. These tasks include maintaining high-quality, consistent, and appropriate communication, managing and analyzing data, assisting with project design and formulation, managing relationships with key stakeholders, and supporting monitoring and evaluation activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Support development of new projects, plans, and processes, ensuring alignment with Korea country partnership strategy and the Uganda government development agenda.
Contribute to preparing accurate and timely reporting on project implementation and activities that enable informed decision making and consistency of information presented to stakeholders.
Enhance partnerships (internal & external), establish and maintain mechanisms for efficient and effective collaborations with government stakeholders, and NGOs.
Coordinate the design and implementation of quantitative and qualitative participatory project evaluations (baseline, annual and final evaluations), assessments, reviews, feasibility studies and other special studies.
Represent KOICA in the development partners meetings and effectively contribute to government policy formulation and implementation.
Organize and coordinate regular joint review missions with stakeholders to assess progress of projects implementation, documentation of best practice and program review.
Others related assignments as required by the supervisor from time to time
Qualification, Experiences and Competencies
Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in the health sector, or a related field
Prior Work Experience: A minimum of two years of relevant working experience in a similar or related role.
Language Proficiency: Fluent in English, both oral and written.

Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
Good computer skills: Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, access & other widely used applications
Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle pressure
Initiative, flexibility, and creativity in problem-solving
Independent work ethic and strong coordination abilities, with the ability to write clearly and concisely
Experience in organizing stakeholder meetings or workshops with different partners
The Applicant should have the ability to interpret and analyze a wide variety of Program issues, maintain accurate and precise records, and work effectively with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
Performance Measurement
Updated and quality communication: Ensure all communications are current, clear, and professional.
Well-organized and quality filing of project documents: Maintain an organized and systematic filing system for all project-related documents.
Timely and quality reports: Produce and submit accurate and detailed reports on time.
Level of Compensation
Up to $1,200 per month, based on the applicant’s qualifications, inclusive of government tax.
Contract terms
The initial three months of the contract are a probationary period, with official employment subject to a performance review.
The employment contract will be renewed annually, subject to an annual performance review.
