Job Overview:
Lead Cost Specialist will lead and be responsible for all cost control and reporting tasks on the project at the worksite. This position will report to the Project Controls Manager and will be key to providing accurate and reliable cost forecasts and projections to the Project Management Team.
Successful candidates must have 10 or more years of relevant experience and recognized expertise in large international onshore/offshore oil and gas projects with at least 5 years of supervisory experience. The working environment is multicultural and demands considerable experience in the project process working with International Clients and Contractors. Strong communication skills, fluent spoken and written English.
Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for monthly CSR forecast/project review meeting for all Project Managers and responsible parties, including the review of revised CSRs and issuing monthly packages to satisfy compliance requirements
Create, review, and revise multiple budgetary and as-sold quote calculations for ongoing proposals
Regular analyses and cost forecasts to facilitate management reviews
Work in co-ordination with the Planning and Progress teams to effectively manage the Project controls responsibilities to PMT
Work with Project Management to resolve ongoing contractual or change management issues
Review proposal drafts, NDA and ongoing project contracts for issues, compliance and change order opportunities
Support Executive Leadership, Operations, Business Development and Project Managers in development and presentation of risk reviews
Issue expended work hours for each project to Project Managers and Business Development Managers in order to maintain accurate expectations of time charges by assigned personnel
Consolidate and compare past estimates to recent wards, proposals and completed projects to better understand internal capabilities, trends and provide better walking-away pricing
Ensure that the National Content Plan is followed by all parties (McDermott and Subcontractors)
Managing the training and advancement of local employees and ensuring that knowledge of the company’s policies and procedures are included
Ability to work efficiently in Company’s Financial system - JD Edwards
Qualification, Experiences and Competencies
Responsible for cost, schedule and progress control
Key to providing accurate and reliable cost forecasts and projections
Must be able to produce, maintain and analyze progress S curves for progress and quantities
Proficient with Project Management concepts
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, Access)
Previous experience of having worked in Progress Measurement databases
Graduate degree or commensurate experience
