About the Organization
The MRC/UVRI & LSHTM Uganda Research Unit is an internationally recognized centre of excellence for research and training. The Unit was established in 1988 to improve the understanding and control of the HIV epidemic in Uganda and globally, following a request from the Uganda Government to the United Kingdom (UK) Government. After wide consultations, and in response to the changing public health landscape, Unit work has broadened beyond HIV to include other infections, neglected, endemic, emerging and re-emerging infections and non-communicable diseases (NCDs).
Job Description
The job holder is to support the Stores & Logistics Associate in accurately receiving, storing, and issuing the Unit's supplies, ensuring adherence to approved Standard Operating Procedures for timely and efficient operations.
Duties and Responsibilities
Issuing out supplies to end users according to approved stores requisition vouchers;
Receiving supplies from Suppliers according to approved Purchase Orders;
Tracking items in storage and manage inbound/outbound movement documents;
Reviewing, verify, and reconcile inbound/outbound shipping documents;
Repackaging of supplies, prepare dispatch notes, and initiate transfer orders in ERP;
Maintaining clean storerooms with restricted access for proper storage;
Conduct monthly and quarterly stock takes for accurate recording of stock values;
Generating monthly purchase order fulfilment report and forward to procurement team;
Addressing user queries regarding stock status, availability, and shelf life;
Identifying operational needs and initiate purchase requisitions;
Monitoring stock levels and advise on reorder in line with replenishment policy;
Prepare and submit monthly report on stock utilization;
Qualification, Experiences and Competencies
Bachelor’s Degree in Procurement and Supply Chain Management or related field;
Should possess at least 6 months experience in a busy research or medical warehouse environment;
Should have membership of a professional Body E.g. CIPS;
Experience in Stores and Logistics management and ability to work with minimum supervision;
Experience working with MS Office programs, office equipment (printer, fax, copier, scanner); and,
Working knowledge of any ERP System and MS Dynamics – Navision.
