Raising Voices is a feminist organization based in Kampala, Uganda, working to prevent violence against women and children (VAW and VAC). We are well known for our innovation of evidence based VAW and VAC prevention methodologies, national engagement on VAC prevention in Uganda, as a regional convener and resource to organizations working on VAW prevention and response throughout the Horn, East and Southern Africa as well as a global thought leader for quality, scalable VAW and VAC prevention.

Duties and Responsibilities
Human Resources Management:
Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and best practices.
Provide guidance on recruitment, selection, and retention strategies.
Advise on employee relations issues, conflict resolution, and disciplinary actions.
Oversee performance management systems, including appraisals and feedback processes.
Develop and coordinate training and development programs for staff.
Strategic Planning:
Assist in the development of HR strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Conduct workforce planning and talent management initiatives.
Analyze HR metrics and data to inform decision-making and policy development.
Compliance and Legal:
Ensure compliance with labor laws, regulations, and organizational policies.
Manage employee benefits programs and ensure they meet regulatory standards.
Oversee health and safety policies and practices in the workplace.
Administrative Leadership:
Provide oversight of administrative functions, including office management.
Develop and manage administrative budgets and resource allocation.
Ensure efficient and effective administrative processes and systems.
Advisory Role:
Act as a trusted advisor to senior management on HR and administrative matters.
Provide expert advice on organizational development and change management.
Facilitate communication and collaboration across departments.
Qualification, Experiences and Competencies
A bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field.
Advanced degree (MBA, Master’s in HR Management) or professional certifications (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) are highly desirable.
Experience:
Significant experience (typically 5-7 years) in human resources and administrative roles.
Proven track record of developing and implementing HR policies and programs.
Experience in a leadership or advisory capacity.
Skills and Competencies:
Deep understanding of HR principles, practices, and regulations.
Strong strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Proficiency in HR software and tools (e.g., HRIS, ATS).
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
Personal Attributes:
High level of integrity and professionalism.
Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Flexibility and adaptability to changing priorities.
